THE KING AND THE BEGGAR

Once upon a time, a king who out of benevolence usually gives out gifts and material items to beggars and the less privileged becomes furious at one of the beggars who would rather tell the king that whatever he does; good or bad, he does so to himself, rather than showing appreciation to the king. The king felt insulted and said to himself that the beggar was being ungrateful and as a results, would teach him a lesson of his life.
The king ordered that a big snake be brought to him. He wrapped the snake in a box to be presented to the beggar as a gift. When the beggar came to the palace to beg for an aid, he said to the king as usual:" Whatever you do; good or bad, you do it to yourself." The king gave him the snake gift and the beggar departed the palace. The prince, however was not aware of the snake and he said to himself:" How could my father give an ordinary beggar a gift as big as this?" He sneaked behind and overtook the beggar by the road side. He snatched the gift from the beggar. He returned home and locked himself up. He opened the box and found an aggressive snake in it. He screamed but no one could hear him.  The snake bit him to death. After a while, the king became worried having not seen his son for over a long time. He asked tat every where be searched. At last, the prince dead body was found in his room along with the snake. The king ordered that the beggar be summoned at the palace immediately. When the beggar arrived, he asked him about the gift given to him. The beggar replied innocently, " A man overtook me by the roadside and snatched the precious gift from me.
The king knew it was his only son and felt regretful. " I thought I would teach him a lesson" the king said to himself, " but I end up teaching myself a lesson in a hard manner. Now I understand that whatever a man does to other he does so to himself!
