The king ordered that a big snake be brought to him. He wrapped the snake in a box to be presented to the beggar as a gift. When the beggar came to the palace to beg for an aid, he said to the king as usual:" Whatever you do; good or bad, you do it to yourself." The king gave him the snake gift and the beggar departed the palace. The prince, however was not aware of the snake and he said to himself:" How could my father give an ordinary beggar a gift as big as this?" He sneaked behind and overtook the beggar by the road side. He snatched the gift from the beggar. He returned home and locked himself up. He opened the box and found an aggressive snake in it. He screamed but no one could hear him.
The king knew it was his only son and felt regretful. " I thought I would teach him a lesson" the king said to himself, " but I end up teaching myself a lesson in a hard manner. Now I understand that whatever a man does to other he does so to himself!
